Cliff Notes: My Week in Review

I've had so many new projects happening this week that I didn't have time to keep it updated well on here. So here is another one of my "cliff notes" posts

- I brought the one "x" bench that I finished so far into "the flea"
If you are local you can purchase them both and the second one will be finished this week

-This guy didn't let my projects stand in his way

- I have a lot of painted, open-back frames available right now, including a set on etsy (click the picture below for details)

-I brought in more new furniture that I'll (hopefully) go into better detail about later in the week

 - I painted with a giant boxer in my lap

-I helped merchandise Christmas decor with an amazingly talented friend

This shop has gorgeous Christmas decor! More about that later in the week as well..

-Then took my favorite person pumpkin picking the next day

Vacation

I just got back from a little vacation to visit my family in New York. Sorry I've been MIA but it was a surprise for my mom, so I couldn't risk sharing it on here :)

It was nice to see my family and my best friend Shannon who I miss so much already! The best part was traveling with my daughter though. She said "you're not going to work the WHOLE time, that's AWESOME!"

My parents still live in the house I was born in, so watching my daughter play there with her cousins is pretty great, and of course it makes me miss Summer as a kid.

As soon as we got back I went on a search for furniture.

So far I've painted this little nightstand that I found.

It's narrow, making it great for small spaces (like this corner in my Dining Room)

You can also see the cute, ceramic plate hanging on the wall that I picked up at Good Will too :)

Detail

And that was my attempt at getting a full shot of the nightstand. This is also my official Kitchen "sneak peak."

The nightstand is for sale for only $49 if you're in the Atlanta area!

Monday Monday

I've re-stocked the flea since the weekend, so here's how it looks.

As always, I like to mix old with new so I added a modern, geometric rug with an antique chair (which may get a make over if it doesn't sell in the next week or two)

White and Ivory have been my best sellers lately, so I did another "white"  4 drawer chest
($159)

And with Spring in the air, I brought in a cute, chippy patio set and some pretty dresses, perfect for spring and summer weddings.

Now off to work on client make-overs!

Happy Monday from Daddy Long Legs and I
- vintage elephant garden stool (craigslist)
- vintage chair (good will)
- amazing vintage lamp in the back that I will take more pictures of ("flew the coupe")
- pink ikat pillow cover (a classy flea)
-boxer (rockinprescue.org)

Shelf Before and After

I got a great deal on this metal shelf the other day, and immediately knew how I wanted it to look.

BEFORE

I wanted it to have an old, worn, industrial feel to it
(instead of the old, worn outdated feel ha!)

All it took was some grey paint

BEFORE
I just don't understand trying to make metal look like wood.

AFTER

AFTER
 available now at the flea

And in Dog News..

I got my Christmas gift early.. my foster boxer has found his "forever home"... with me.

"Wag More Bark Less"

Because I have been sharing pictures of my dogs almost as much as my furniture
(because let's face it, my life revolves around my daughter, dogs and work)
I feel it necessary to share some heartbreaking news.
At just 8 months old, my little boxer Alvin past away yesterday morning.

I really miss my sweet boy, but am thankful for what time I did get with him

<3

Now, back on topic.. I am still in the middle of a couple furniture projects but
because I don't want to leave anyone who reads this feeling sad, I thought I'd share some of my faves from other dealers at the flea

you can understand my obsession for this piece here

I have never seen an all wood sofa before.. LOVE it. wish I owned it. Have no place for it. Can't really afford it.
 SOLD (not to me)

I generally prefer eclectic over matching sets.. however this chest of drawers and nightstand...

as well as this table and chairs, are gorgeous enough to be an exception.
