Getting your Hands Dirty

Not long ago I met a person who was "flipping" a house that had furniture left in it and was looking to sell it all.

This person told me a dealer from another local shop had gone out to the property already.

I was told that the other dealer left empty handed because the furniture was "dirty" and "broken."

I'd like to thank that dealer, because there were some great pieces left for yours truly.

The buffet in this post and the cabinet from this post also came from this property.
Too dirty?
People are funny.

Repurpose. Recycle. Upcycle.

Call it what you will, but I can't get enough of it.

I bought this guy yesterday. Did I know what it was? No.
Did I know what I was going to do with it? No.
Did I convinence myself I needed it anyway? Obviously, yes.

I decided it's "supposed" to be a table.

I painted a piece of wood I had left over from another project and attached it.
OK, my brother attached the top not me, but I'm definitely the brains of the operation.
See the shelves in this cabinet?
That's where the scrap wood came from. Again, I'm the brains behind the shelves and my brother is the labor. I painted the back aqua and wrapped the shelves in burlap fabric.
$110 at the flea
On another note, I got some more shutters,
sooo if you want one of these:
Or this..

They are available again.
I'll be listing them on or you can email for a custom design.

Check out this little gem my brother found for me.
Faux marble from MDF board anyone?

I didn't think so.. My brother made the new wood top from pallet wood.
I painted the metal base black and stained the wood dark walnut.
I still have to re-finish it's twin.
They will be available for $69 each.
Speaking of twins, this chair has one too.
I just haven't decided if they're identical or fraternal.
available for $59

A New Coffee Table & Work Shop

I'm a sucker for furniture with carved detail.

And the color blue.

And now that I've finished my studio/office, I'm ready to take on more clients who might also be suckers for carved furniture and the color blue.

or any colors for that matter; no discrimination here.

The Power of Paint

I've been spending a lot of time painting at my friend Claire's house.
And what a difference it is making!
Whether a shade of Grey or a bold color..
Fully painted, or just an accent..
There is a lot of power in paint.
Have I mentioned how much I love what I do?
